Akcja, związana z oficjalnym otwarciem nowej siedziby EBC, rozpoczęła się wczesnym rankiem. Według danych RIA Novosti, uczestniczyło w niej około 1,5 tys. osób. Włosi i Holendrzy a także przedstawiciele jeszcze kilku krajów europejskich przybyli we wtorek w nocy do Frankfurtu nad Menem, aby wesprzeć swoich kolegów z ruchu Blockupy, zrzeszającego radykalne lewicowe partie w Europie. Policjanci, których jest wyraźnie zbyt mało, nie mogą zablokować drogi nowym manifestantom, lecz filmują ich.
Manifestanci na moście od czasu do czasu wykrzykują hasła „Śmierć kapitalizmu!", „Niech to diabli wezmą Bank Europejski!". Policjanci co jakiś czas zwracają się do tłumu przez głośniki. Tłum reaguje gwizdem i krzykami. Biuro prasowe EBC poinformowało RIA Novosti, że nie może skomentować aktualnych wydarzeń, lecz oficjalna ceremonia otwarcia nowej siedziby EBC będzie transmitowana na żywo w internecie prawie jednocześnie z demonstracją.
